Thai boxing is less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting his or her own innermost fears and self-doubts.

Conquer those fears and doubts, and your child unleashes within a powerful, unstoppable force.
Whether your child is interested in getting in shape, learning self-defense skills, or actually one day fighting in the ring, the Muay Thai Institute of Kunponli is the place to start. From age 5 to 12, the children in our Kids Thai Boxing classes learn the basics to the most advanced moves. At each of the five levels of MTIK's dynamic Kids Thai Boxing, our youngest members find:
  • Increased strength and fitness in both body and mind
  • Increased self-respect
  • Courage
  • Staying power
  • Self-control
  • Improved focus
  • Fearless self-confidence

Cost: $149 for a six-week trial period, no contract.

Classes are offered
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
At 4 p.m.

Level One: Beginner I

At this level, students are taught Thai fundamentals: how to throw the basic punch and Thai kick, how to use elbows and knees as weapons, how to defend against the same moves. They learn how to shadow-box, how to use the bags and how to do pad work in the ring.

Level Two: Beginner II

Students show improved cardiovascular fitness through increased rounds of jump rope and running sprints. They also show better understanding of the Thai fundamentals. Teamwork is emphasized, as well as balance and coordination. Students can begin light sparring at this level.

Level Three: Intermediate

Students continue improvement in cardio work, as well as pushups and crunches. They can handle more complex combinations on the bags, and they show increased skill in the ring while leg-sparring, boxing, and working on simple combinations of legs and hands.

Level Four: Advanced Intermediate

Students can now use knees when sparring in the ring, and are able to hold pads for simple combinations. Bag combos are more complex.

Level Five: Advanced

At this level, the student can work as an assistant to the instructor, and can hold pads for other children. Sparring is very good, and the student may be considering the fight program.

Thai Boxing is the best thing you can do for your child!
